As per question six, according to the U.S. Constitution, the Framers already created a "free speech zone." It is the totality of the republic.

Question nine is a bit blurry as written. In asking "their desired outcome," is the "their" you referring to the child, the parents, or the professional? This issue has only recently seen light, and most times in two venues, in the homes of confused Hollywood celebrities and in "woke" public schools. In both instances, this is an abomination of the highest order and a particularly evil form of child abuse. This issue takes on an even more complex direction as it appears this form of indoctrination is being carried out on very young children. This is why I supported HB-1557 here in Florida. (ref. https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2022/1557/BillText/er/PDF). Young children should NEVER be exposed to such poison, either by a teacher at school or at home. Both are an abomination.

Candidate's Comments:
As a State Representative, I will be guided by a simple, two-part mantra. First, as a society and a part of our social contract, we choose to tax ourselves to educate our children, not to create an uncontrolled parallel governmental entity. As such, the money follows the student. Second, from a free-market perspective, the "customer" in education is NOT the child or the school system but the taxpayer/parent. They are the ones paying the taxes. As the "customer," the parents will ALWAYS have the final word on both where their child goes to school and what their child is taught. The elected board of a school system has only a stewardship function of the educational enterprise. They do NOT have an in loco parentis relationship or authority vice the actual parents or guardians. From a more granular level, I do not believe that being a classroom teacher should even be seen as a prerequisite for being a school board member. The board is not a classroom, and the function of the board is that of fiscal and operational stewards and the elected representatives of the taxpayer/parents of the jurisdiction. While said stewardship involves the compensation, occupational safety, and overall well-being of the school district personnel, the board does NOT represent the teachers; the teachers union has that responsibility.

Candidate's Comments:
Regarding questions 16 and 17, the parents must ALWAYS be the first call regarding all aspects of the child's education and overall well-being.
