8. The government should not fund professional counseling for these issues, but there should not be a restriction on parents seeking counseling for a child. However, I do not believe in the practice of "conversion therapy" that has proved harmful and ineffective. 9. No one should be discriminated against for their sexual orientation.

Candidate's Comments:
10. Texas' public schools face critical underfunding at the state-level. Now is the time to ensure our schools, especially our rural schools, are setting up our students and teachers with the resources necessary to foster success. Voucher programs cost billions of dollars and in Texas, private schools are not held to the same standards as public schools. This is a fiscally irresponsible policy and will exclude our rural Texans who will pay the bill. 11. I don't believe this is a pressing issue that requires government intervention and can be handled at the local level.
