Some people have claimed a right to commit statutory rape because God told them to, Others have claimed a right to beat their children, or to deny them life saving medical care. Q13 is moot since no one is actually teaching that. It’s the dishonest misrepresentation of actual curriculum. Students have a right to an honest teaching of history, even if some people misrepresent it and some parents believe the misrepresentation. Q14 Parents’ Rights do not extend to making their children ignorant.

15 See my earlier comments. 16&17 In the vast majority of cases, of course parents should be informed. But confidentiality is also important. In some cases a child might seek needed help only if the parents don’t know.
