Candidate's Comments:
Consent is a critical part of any relationship- a person cannot be forced to do business with an organization short of a court order, and I believe that private organizations can choose to withhold their services from a customer who holds views that are diametrically opposed to their own, such as hate organizations. The government, on the other hand, is called upon to be agnostic towards cases where it does not directly contribute to active public harm; this is a key pillar of our 1st Amendment rights.

Candidate's Comments:
7- This opens up a burden to police the internet which is a slippery slope towards internet censorship. The parent should be responsible for parenting their child, not asking the government to do it for them. 8a- This one is trickily worded intentionally. I am a huge believer that children should have access to mental healthcare, and I think that should be the first step whenever questions of gender identity come up. However, to " find comfort with his or her biological sex" implies counseling them into the parent's preferred identity. In any situation I believe that a patient has their own right to an identity and that responsible healthcare professionals are best equipped to make the determination of what the patient's best interests are. 8b- Solely, yes, I support protecting parents in this context. That being said, I think intentionally not using a person's gender identity is an act consistent with abuse and should be taken into account as part of the totality of the situation.

Candidate's Comments:
For most of these, it falls under the parents right to be involved and to receive public services, but if you want alternative services including religious schools, those should rely on private funding no matter what religion they represent For 11 specifically, do I believe that parents should have access to the vast amount of their children's health information? Yes. But they also have a duty to protect to harm and if the patient does not want an another individual to know, and it does not threaten life or limb, then no, that is a private personal concern and should be protected rather than weaponizing public employees into ideological watchdogs.

Candidate's Comments:
The right of people to practice their own autonomy is one of the fundamental founding concepts of this great nation, and I believe that extends to a person's bodily autonomy. Our system is also not made to support the influx of children without homes that would occur if the right to reproductive healthcare were to be denied to our most sensitive populations.
