REHA, the ACT CODIFYING THE KILLING OF AN UN-BORN CHILD IN THE REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE ACT, IS FLAWED AND UNCONSTITUTIONAL. For my Abortion to be constitutional, the question of whether the fetus is a person or a clump of cells must be addressed. My opponent didn't debate this. ACCESS TO ABORTION IN COLORADO WAS NEVER UNDER ATTACK. A WOMAN HAS BEEN FREE TO ACCESS ABORTION BEFORE THE ACT. Colorado had an Abortion statute in 2007 that criminalized rape and incest and protected women from egregious providers telling them their fetus is a clump of cells. The abortion statute was repealed in 2013 and signed by Gov. Hickenlooper. The federal court cases, including 19-1392 DOBBS V. JACKSON WOMEN'S HEALTH DECISION, 18-837 Harris v. West Alabama Women's Center (06/28/2019) OVERTURNED ROE V. WADE AND CASSEY. Court Docket No. 19-1392 jeopardizes access to OVERTURNED ROE BECAUSE IT WAS FLAWED, AND ABORTION IS NOT A FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT IN THE CONSTITUTION. THE SUPREME COURT HELD: THAT THE CONSTITUTION DOES NOT CONFER A RIGHT TO ABORTION; ROE AND CASEY ARE OVERRULED, AND THE AUTHORITY TO REGULATE ABORTION IS RETURNED TO THE PEOPLE AND THEIR ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES. THERE IS NO MORAL BENEFIT TO LAWFULLY KILLING ANY PERSON, ESPECIALLY AN INNOCENT PERSON, AND THERE IS A SOCIAL COST TO DEPRIVING A LIFE; DEPRIVING A LIFE MEANS THAT YOU ARE DEVALUING A LIFE. SIN DOES NOT MANIFEST FEAR OF THE GOD as Sir. 1:27 says. But ABRAHAM IS PRAISED FOR BEING AFRAID OF GOD SINCE HE WAS WILLING TO KILL HIS INNOCENT SON. THEREFORE, ONE MAY, WITHOUT SIN, KILL AN INNOCENT PERSON. THINGS IN ACCORD WITH THE ORDER OF JUSTICE ARE NOT SINS. But the order of justice sometimes compels one to kill an innocent person. We can consider an individual human being in two ways: in one way, a fetus is a person from conception, or in another, the fetus is a clump of cells inside the woman’s body. ABORTION IS A STATEWIDE CONCERN AFFECTING THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF EVERY CITIZEN IN THE STATE. AMENDMENT 14 SECOND PARAGRAPH SAYS: “NO STATE SHALL MAKE OR ENFORCE ANY LAW WHICH ABRIDGES THE PRIVILEGES OR IMMUNITIES OF CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES; NOR SHALL ANY STATE DEPRIVE ANY PERSON OF LIFE, LIBERTY, OR PROPERTY, WITHOUT DUE PROCESS; NOR DENY ANY PERSON WITHIN ITS JURISDICTION THE EQUAL PROTECTION OF THE LAW.” Clearly, then, The State must define whether the fetus is a person or a clump of cells to ensure the safety of every citizen or potential citizen in the state. We know from science that there are two independent individuals during pregnancy. IT MUST BE REPEALED.

Candidate's Comments:
The Declaration of Independence states that all men are created equal, endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights among these are life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. To secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. We are all equal in the Creator's image. If we are all equal then there should be no reason for a protected class. But government's role is to protect everyone's rights equally.

Press Release Thursday, August 11, 2022 Marla Fernandez was born in Miami. Her parents fled Castro’s reign in 1961 for freedom. My grandfather often said: “there’s a difference between knowledge and wisdom. Denver, CO— Thursday, August 11, 2022 — Marla Fernandez was raised bilingual so she can communicate with the entire Latino World for such a time as this. She is running for the Colorado General Assembly House of Representatives District 3. Right now, Latinos have NO VOICE. You may have seen her run for Denver School Board last year. It just pains her to listen to liberals put down this country. To her, the democrats sound like communists putting down America. But that’s just her because she was raised by Cuban Americans. She says, “I can’t stand by and do nothing.” Her biggest concern is education. She left her law career to homeschool her son. In schooling, she learned that most student’s graduating from Denver Public Schools graduate with a reading below basic literacy. Because, on average, 32% of Denver Public Schools 4th graders read proficiently. That means there is an 85% chance that your kiddos will never learn to read well. The schools in Colorado are not teaching phonics consistently up to 5th grade. Most teachers in 4th and 5th grade don’t teach phonics. And they aren’t teaching grammar or diagraming a sentence. Grammar is to writing, what spelling is to phonics. Kids aren’t getting the basic skills. Literacy Matters. We must teach kids to read well to level the playing field, so everyone has an opportunity. Success is not equity-driven. To succeed, you need to have equal opportunity. Equity, inclusivity, and social-emotional learning are buzz words that sound like communism. They are empty words that don’t solve the literacy problem. Marla Fernandez is about putting literacy first for all kids to succeed. She hopes to unite parents and brings transparency back to Colorado.
