Candidate's Comments:
For questions 4 & 5: while I support religious freedom and would vote against attempts to coerce religious or personal behavior violates a person’s religious values, I support laws that keep commercial activities free from unjust discrimination. For question 6: while I don’t support restrictions on free speech when it comes to campus lectures or public discussions, your question would apply to rules that stop one student from verbally attacking another in a group counseling session at a campus mental health center. I can’t see voting to allow that kind of behavior. For question 7: I support privacy protections for charitable contributions that have no element of political advocacy or political issue communication. I oppose anonymous dark money in politics.

Candidate's Comments:
Question 8 appears to deny the existence of transgender youth. If I misunderstand the question, I may need to revise my answer. Question 9 is not clear. If the word “they” refers to the child and the child’s desire to express their gender identity, I support allowing this. If it refers to the scientifically debunked torture sometimes called “conversion therapy,” I support a complete ban on doing that to children in Alaska.

11.
School Choice: Allowing the use of tax credits, vouchers, and education savings accounts to cover the cost of children attending the school of their parents' choice, including private schools.
X
12.
Parental Rights for Opt-Out: Giving parents the ability to opt their children out of school materials and lessons to which the parents object.
X
13.
Critical Race Theory: Allowing schools to teach children that America's laws, policies, and society perpetuate systemic racism and that people are either oppressors or oppressed, or privileged or marginalized, based on their skin color.
X
14.
Parental Rights for Transparency in Education: Giving parents access to the curriculum and materials their children are learning in school and allowing them to decide whether or not their children should be exposed to certain ideas.
X
Candidate's Comments:
Question 13 is deceptively worded. Systematic oppression is commonly directed at people based on skin color or other immutable characteristics, but that doesn’t mean individuals without those characteristics are personally oppressors. One can benefit from inequality without personally causing it.

15.
Medical Rights of Conscience: Allowing health care workers and providers the freedom to practice medicine in accordance with their personal beliefs and conscience.
X
16.
Parental Rights for Healthcare Disclosure: Requiring schools to disclose to parents if the school is providing counseling or medical services to a child who desires to undergo “gender transition.”
X
17.
Parental Rights for Mental Health Disclosure: Directing schools to inform parents of any mental, physical, or emotional health information and treatment that a child is receiving at school.
X
Candidate's Comments:
The answers to questions 16 and 17 are limited to the bounds of child protection and other applicable laws. Schools should not be required to disclose to abusive parents or in situations where disclosure would likely cause the child serious harm.
