Freedom of religion is one of our basic beliefs, even when it requires a decision such as exempting organizations from regulations. Once we cross that line of denying religion freedom we cannot go back.

Sexual orientation and gender identify is not a new issue, it is simply an issue that has finally come out into the light. It needs to be recognized.

It is one thing to teach that America's laws perpetuated racism in the past, it is another to say that they still do. We need to work towards ending racism, not perpetuating it.

The schools still need to provide the assistance to the children, however the parents still have the right to be informed and to make decisions regarding those services.
