Candidate's Comments:
i think the above protections are already enshrined in the US Constitution and Bill of Rights. I do not think such issues need to be necessarily legislated upon considering that the highest Law of the land already affords us such protections. I do lament however that our "civil" discourse or lack thereof, has necessitated suing to protect such rights and that's both expensive and time consuming.

Candidate's Comments:
I think parents ought to be able to get their children the best medical and mental care they need and that they can afford. I have noted over time that the quality of medical and mental health services has degraded due to state or governmental entities pushing a certain political line and forcing professionals to put consideration of personal convenience ahead of the patient's well being, by threatening and withholding or taking away their license to practice medicine. Governmental entities have no business getting in the way of a medical opinion. I think all citizens ought to be protected equally by the law. That's the promise enshrined in our Bill of rights. Considering how the government has been in the business of bestowing special favors to a certain group of citizens at the expense of different classes of citizens, I think the time may have come to have each case judged independently on the merits without regard to the sex, sexual identity, religion, ethnicity, etc etc of the individual claiming a disadvantage. For example, a transgender female (aka a genetic male) may complain of discrimination for not being allowed in the women's restrooms, locker rooms and showers, but there are precise reasons etc that have brought governments such as ours, allow females a protected space. protecting women and children still ought to be the general policy.

Candidate's Comments:
I think children ought to learn everything about American history. The good, the bad and the ugly. And i think children ought to be taught world history too. They will find out that much of what we experienced in our past, like slavery, war, or expansion, subjugation of Native tribes, has also happened in every other country and place on earth. What other places may not have achieved is the sheer miracle of our Founding and the creation of the Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights. They also need to learn that perfection is not of this world but as a country we have certainly aimed at giving more people more freedom, more guaranteed liberties, more ability to chart their own destiny, more ability to work and be productive and accumulate wealth and keep the fruits of one's labor. We have also granted rights and citizenships to people from far off lands, so long as they professed adherence to the ideals of our declaration of Independence, Constitutions, and Bill of Rights. That has been uncommon in world history. that is our greatness. what I object to is the teaching of revisionist "history" that seek to brainwash our children to hate the US. People have a First Amendment right to falsify the historical record or cast things in a pejorative light, but not a cent of public money should go to fund or support that.

Candidate's Comments:
I don't think any minor should be receiving any health care information or treatment other than administering a medication that has been requested by the parent, or the occasional taking of a body temperature. The only exception should be a medical emergency where medical care is required immediately without regard to whether a parent is present or not. Yes, the school should inform the parent that a child needs medical care and then trust that the parent will follow up with medical providers of his or her choice.
