Note that the federal and state constitutions mainly address limitations on what the government may do, such as abridging free speech, free press or establishing religion. However, that doesn't apply to individuals or businesses, which have to factor in the backlash of any discrimination. The Civil Rights Act only applies to protected classes.

Candidate's Comments:
Note that RCW 49.60.040 added "gender expression or identity" to the definition of sexual orientation, and they are very different things that even most LGTB activists insist be treated separately. This language change was simply a political tactic to have transgender individuals treated as a protected class in this state, even though that's not how it was sold to the public.

I am a computer science teacher, and after remove learning for COVID I kept the cameras running in my classroom so that parents continue to have a window into my curriculum. (It also help keep the students on their best behavior, knowing that their parents can review anything they say or do in class.)

My opponent sponsored a bill to move clinics into schools so that medical procedures and proscriptions can be provided without the knowledge or consent of parents. It's now state law.
