Candidate's Comments:
I believe that healthcare decisions should be made based on the needs of the individual and the recommendations of their doctor. Politicians (in most cases) are not medical experts and should not be weighing in on these vital decisions. I also believe that terminally ill patients should have the right to end their suffering if they choose.

Candidate's Comments:
Private businesses should have the freedom to serve whomever they choose. Faith-based organizations should not be considered "above the law" based on their religious beliefs. Freedom of speech is paramount and should not be restricted as long as it does not cause imminent danger (ie. yelling "fire" in a crowded room). Donors should be able to anonymously support charities.

Candidate's Comments:
The NCAA and other associations that oversee sports have already created policies pertaining to this. I do not think the state should have a role in determining eligibility, it should be left up to the Associations (just as the state should not interfere with membership or participation in other non-government activities). Parents should have the ability to get whatever help is necessary for their children without interference from the government. Everyone deserves the right to be protected against discrimination.

Candidate's Comments:
Parents should be able to choose the school that best suits their children and family, but tax payers should not have to pay for private school tuition. I have met with the superintendents in our District to get first-hand knowledge of these issues. A law was passed in the 1990's that guaranteed parents the right to ask the school at any time for information on curriculum and school materials, and that is still the standard. However, asking teachers to post curriculum in advance is overly burdensome. Teachers often adjust the curriculum if a particular lesson is more difficult or easier for students than expected. They cannot be expected to continuously update a public document along with all of their other duties. They are professionals and we need to treat them as such. The superintendents also assured me that CRT is not part of the curriculum and never has been.

Candidate's Comments:
This is pertaining to Covid vaccinations, and I believe health care workers have the responsibility to get vaccinated unless there is clear evidence that it will cause harm to them. I hesitate to make an across-the-board requirement. In most cases, parents should be notified of counseling at school, and certainly need permission to provide any medical services. However, if the child would be endangered by revealing the counseling to parents, the schools need an option to consult with an alternative caregiver.
