Exempting faith-based organizations (e.g. adoption/foster care providers, private schools) from regulations that cause them to violate their sincerely held religious beliefs. Organizations operating state-licensed or taxpayer-supported services must uphold established civil rights laws and non-discrimination standards. I oppose exemptions that allow public-facing providers to deny care, services, or placement to qualified families and individuals. 6. Prohibiting financial institutions from shutting a customer's bank account or canceling their insurance because of their religious or political views. Consumers require protection against arbitrary corporate actions based on lawful expression or personal beliefs. Question 8 (a) Conversion therapy practices aimed at altering a child's gender identity or sexual orientation are scientifically discredited and condemned by major medical and mental health organizations. Decades of clinical evidence demonstrate that these practices inflict severe psychological harm, increasing the risk of depression, anxiety, and self-harm. Youth struggling with gender identity require compassionate, evidence-based, and gender-affirming healthcare rather than coercive counseling designed to force conformity to biological sex. Question 8 (b) Family law standards must prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of the child. Standardizing protections for parents who reject a child's gender identity undermines necessary legal protections for vulnerable youth. State child welfare authorities must maintain the flexibility to step in if a minor experiences severe psychological harm, neglect, or emotional abuse as a result of non-affirming home environments.

Question 10 Respecting students' and educators' preferred names and pronouns creates safe, inclusive, and welcoming learning environments. Refusing to recognize a person's affirmed gender identity fosters marginalization, harassment, and psychological distress. School policies should uphold dignity, mutual respect, and basic civil rights protections for all individuals. Question 11 While parental engagement is vital, blanket mandatory notification policies can put vulnerable students at risk. In cases involving sensitive health matters or gender identity, rigid reporting mandates can compromise student safety if home environments are unsupportive or unsafe.
