Candidate's Comments:
I believe every human life has inherent value, including unborn children. At the same time, I recognize that pregnancy can involve complex medical circumstances involving the life and health of the mother, cases of severe fetal abnormalities, and pregnancies resulting from rape or incest. My goal is not to criminalize women or doctors, but to reduce the number of abortions through better access to prenatal care, affordable childcare, healthcare, adoption services, and economic support for families. 2) I support taxpayer funding for healthcare services provided by organizations that offer a broad range of medical care, including cancer screenings, contraception, and preventive medicine. Public funds should continue to follow existing laws that prohibit federal funding for most elective abortions while ensuring women have access to essential healthcare services. 3) I support taxpayer funding for healthcare services provided by organizations that offer a broad range of medical care, including cancer screenings, contraception, and preventive medicine. Candidate's Comments:
4) I believe Americans should not lose professional licenses or certifications solely because of their religious or political beliefs. Licensing decisions should be based on competence, ethics, and professional conduct rather than ideology. At the same time, licensed professionals must still meet the legal and ethical responsibilities of their profession and provide services fairly under the law. 5) I strongly support religious freedom and believe faith-based organizations should not be forced to violate their sincerely held beliefs. However, when organizations receive public funding or perform government services on behalf of the public, there must also be protections to ensure all citizens receive fair access to services and opportunities under the law. 6) I believe individuals should not lose access to banking or insurance services solely because of their political opinions or religious beliefs. Financial institutions should make decisions based on lawful financial and business considerations rather than political ideology. This protection should not apply to criminal activity, fraud, or legitimate financial risks.

Candidate's Comments:
7) I support parental involvement in decisions regarding minors’ use of social media and believe technology companies should not profit from addictive design features targeting children. Parents should retain authority over their children’s online access, while platforms should protect minors’ privacy and limit data collection and manipulative engagement practices designed to maximize screen time. 8A) I support allowing parents to seek professional counseling for children experiencing gender-related concerns, provided the counseling is compassionate, evidence-based, non-coercive, and focused on the child’s overall wellbeing. Families should have access to qualified mental health professionals who can help children and parents navigate difficult issues while respecting both parental involvement and the dignity of the child. 8b) I believe custody decisions should be based on the overall safety and wellbeing of the child and not on a single disagreement over issues of gender identity. Parents should not lose custody solely because they hold differing views regarding treatment approaches, provided the child is safe, cared for, and free from abuse or neglect. Parents should play a central role in raising their children, children should be protected from exploitation, and government intervention should occur only when a child’s safety or wellbeing is genuinely at risk.

Candidate's Comments:
9) I support parental choice in education, including private and religious schools. However, I believe public education dollars should primarily support and strengthen our public schools that serve all children. My goal is to make Alaska’s public schools so strong that families choose them because of their quality and opportunities 10) I believe people should treat one another with dignity and respect, including respecting personal preferences whenever possible. However, I also believe government should be cautious about compelling speech or punishing individuals for sincerely held beliefs. My preference is for solutions based on mutual respect rather than government mandates 11) Parents are the primary caregivers and decision-makers for their children and should be informed about significant mental, physical, and emotional health services provided at school. Exceptions may be necessary when there is evidence of abuse, neglect, or immediate danger to the child. 12) I believe parents should have access to curriculum materials and understand what their children are learning in school. Parents should also have reasonable opportunities to opt their children out of specific activities or presentations that conflict with their beliefs, while ensuring schools can continue providing a complete education for all studentsp

Candidate's Comments:
13) I believe healthcare workers should not lose their careers for refusing to participate in medical procedures that violate their sincerely held moral or religious beliefs. At the same time, healthcare systems have a responsibility to ensure patients can still access lawful medical care in a timely manner through referrals or alternative providers 14) I believe women and girls deserve privacy, dignity, and safety in intimate spaces such as locker rooms, shelters, prisons, and similar facilities. At the same time, transgender individuals deserve respect and should not face harassment or discrimination. Public policy should seek practical solutions that protect the rights, safety, and dignity of everyone involved 15) Organizations that provide support, counseling, material assistance, or services to pregnant women and families should not be targeted because of their beliefs or mission. At the same time, all organizations should operate honestly, transparently, and in compliance with applicable laws and professional standards.
